About me
Full time mommy to the sweetest little girl I could have asked for. Part-time student - Education major. I'm an assistant Family Nature Club organizer. And an aspiring activist. I believe that the best way to change the world is to start with our selves, our families, and our communities. As Gandhi says “be the change we want to see in the world.” I think we all have huge potential to be a part of something more and I started this blog not just to share my own little adventures, but to connect with all the other amazing people doing great work out in the world. About the blog This blog contains my many ramblings, including writings on: nonviolent communication and our family nature club. On this blog I write about our little adventures towards a more peaceable and sustainable life; including but never limited to: education, parenting, sustainable living, compassionate communication, mindful living, and pretty much any topic that might be related to changing the world (ambitious, no? GOOD, that the point!). Writing for me has always been about connection; connection to others, connection with myself, and connection with whatever it is I’m writing about. So.. I started this blog so that I could connect with other people interested in the same things and to share knowledge and experiences and I hoped that it would help me reflect and grow on my journey. What's in a name For three years of blogging, I had many short lived blogs. I changed titles constantly. Until I finally found Little Green Giraffe. Why? Because its mysterious, its vague, its open-ended, its unlimited. I wanted something that could stick with me even as my blog and my life take their twists and turns. Also, the giraffe is a symbol of nonviolent communication; read more about the symbolism here. Disclosure Policy: Little Green Giraffe is my personal blog, all opinions are my own. I do occasionally participate in writing sponsored posts and hosts ads on this site. |
